Review
Beowulf is a 3rd person action game based on the animation movie. Sometimes, a game based on a movie is bad, when the movie was good. And the other way around too. Sometimes, when a movie is bad, a game could turn out to be real bad. This is the case with Beowulf. I don't really know what it is. Perhaps it is the fact that Beowulf could be considered a copy of God of War, which is an excellent game. Perhaps it is the fact that I was influenced by the bad movie when I played this game. I did not like it at all. In the game, you play the main character of the movie, whose name I am glad I don't remember. During the course of the game, you go around the imaginary locations killing fantastic enemies like dragons, 3-eyed monsters, and beasts like that. Once in a while, there are sort of puzzles in which you have to press a certain combination of keys on your keyboard to overcome a challenge, a la God of War. The controls are awkward and you never attain full control of the movement of your character. |
